## Prerequisites and control

- The page must be indexed and eligible to be shown in Search with a snippet; there are “no additional technical requirements”.
- No special optimization, no special schema.org markup.
- Control of display: nosnippet , data-nosnippet , max-snippet and noindex . Changes can take days to months; a recrawl can be requested.
- Reporting: AI Overviews and AI Mode traffic is in the Search Console Performance report under “Web”.

## Timeline

According to a secondary source (Android Central), AI Overviews were made available to all US users on 14 May 2024; for other countries Google gave no timeline at the time. The launch in Germany has not been verified from a Google primary source here.
